IT Support Technician to the Infrastructure Team
£28000 - £32000
35 hour working week (flexi between 8-6)

An expanding software consultancy and development company providing tailored solutions to a variety of different industry areas, supporting organisations worldwide is seeking an IT Support Technician to support the Network Infrastructure Manager to support their IT and Hosted systems, help manage the virtualised environment built on Hyper-V housing Windows 2008 R2 and 2012 Servers running a variety of applications including .NET & SQL Server.

Duties:
·Ensure the efficient and smooth running of both internal and client-facing infrastructure
·Establish and maintain processes for monitoring and maintaining server and network performance
·Establish and maintain processes for monitoring and maintaining network security.
·Help build, maintain and deploy Hyper V servers.
·Maintain server and network infrastructure with all latest patches and updates as required.
·Maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Exchange and SQL server
·Assist with the deployment of our software applications to infrastructure.
·Work with ISO team as required to maintain ISO[please apply by clicking on the blue button on this web page] processes and compliance
·Work with the SQL Database Administrator to ensure optimal performance of all database servers
·Ensure all processes for backups, disaster recovery, server and PC recovery are functioning and available
·Ensure we meet all compliance and regulatory requirements.

Essential Requirements:
·2-4 years' experience in IT Support role
·Highly motivated, positive, responsible, organised, quick learner and team player.
·Strong experience in Windows desktop support
·Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Active Directory, DHCP and DNS.
·Experience of working with Microsoft SQL server 2008, 2012
·Knowledge and experience of working with Microsoft Exchange 2003 - 2015
·Good working knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and configuration
·Knowledge of PC and Server performance and optimal configuration
·Experience of managing firewalls, routers, switches and other network infrastructure
·Recognised qualification in IT; either a HE degree in computer related field, a relevant Microsoft qualification or vocational training from a certified provider.


Desirable
·Microsoft qualifications in relation to administration or networks (MCSE, MCSA, MCITP)
·Knowledge of SANs (NextGen would be advantageous)
·Knowledge and or experience of working with Watchguard Firewall products
·Knowledge of Team Foundation Server and Sharepoint 2013
