The role that we are recruiting to sits within the Strategic Procurement Team, heading up the Assets and Infrastructure category. This team provides direct localised support to our customers in Surrey County Council, providing expertise on tendering activity and contributing to the delivery of service objectives, savings and other benefits, including social value. We work closely with the Strategic Procurement Team in East Sussex County Council, sharing knowledge, expertise and resource to best service our customer’s needs.

The Strategic Procurement Manager role will also work closely with colleagues in the other functional teams that sit within Orbis Procurement, providing support for Category Strategy development and supply chain engagement. Cross-functional working and matrix management is key to how we function as a service.

 To be shortlisted for interview, your CV and personal statement will clearly evidence:

- Substantial procurement expertise, leading significant projects across a range of commercial, category and sourcing activities, with a particular focus on Assets & Infrastructure.

- Experience in building and developing strong stakeholder relationships with major service areas at a senior level.

- Knowledge of the principles of change management, project management and continuous improvement, and their practical application, with a focus on delivery.

- Great interpersonal and communication skills across a variety of formats.

- Wide experience in successful leading, coaching, mentoring and developing of staff.

- Public Sector experience and sound knowledge of EU procurement regulations is preferred.

Additional Information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
