Want to work in a small friendly finance team and have ownership of varied intercompany accounts. Have good accounts / finance experience but desperate to work part time?

Working in a small Finance team, supporting the Finance Director the Part Time Assistant Accountant will assist in the smooth running of the finance function to produce monthly accounts.

• Calculation and entry of monthly journals including accruals, prepayments and depreciation
• Maintenance of the fixed asset register
• Maintain and reconcile the confidential invoice discounting bank accounts and monthly reconciliation
• Trial balance reconciliation of 4 operational companies – reporting variances to the Finance Director
• Draft production of Profit & Loss and balance sheet
• Quarterly VAT returns
• Monthly Intrastat & EC Sales Listing calculations
• Developing a process for recording staff mileage claims to ensure compliance with HMRC
• Assisting with the annual audit
• Variance analysis of nominal codes against budget
• Proactively suggest improvements to current processes where to either streamline or enhance the quality of information being produced

Skills

• Part qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or AAT)
• Excellent working knowledge of Excel including pivot tables
• Strong attention to detail
• Knowledge of Sage 200 is desired

£28,000 – 30,000 FTE – 25 hours per week contract (for 25 hours = min £18666)

Holidays 23 days + shut down between Christmas and New Year, Pension, Parking, Core Office hours: Hours 830-5 Mon-Thurs; 8-330 Fri 37.5hrs Lunch 45 minutes Mon-Thurs and 30 mins Fri - 25 hours flexible.
