A local technology company are seeking an additional Technical Service Engineer to join their team to provide 2^nd and 3^rd line support to clients.

What will you be doing?

• Provide 2nd and 3rd line support to customers
• Working directly with customers to ensure their current and future technical architecture is optimized
• Initiating and making technical recommendations for service improvement initiatives
• Technical administration of the Service Desk
• Implement additional functionality to support Service Management processes
• Assisting in training the 1st line support team when required
• Assisting with the management of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change)
• Supporting the account management teams with technical enquiries from customers

What do you need?

• Experience of Linux system administration (Debian, Ubuntu, RHEL would be beneficial)
• Knowledge of cloud / virtualisation technologies (e.g. Xen, KVM, Gemu, Openstack)
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and internet protocols
• Experience in a customer service or account management role
• Proficient in the use of MS Office, in particular Excel
• Excellent communication skills
• Good level of education
• Working knowledge of the technology sector / cloud computing
• Degree or some relevant qualifications (ITIL, Red Hat Cert, Linux Cert)

Experience of some of the following would be useful: MySQL (& replication), Scripting in Bash or Python, Linux Kernel tuning, Automation with Puppet or Ansible, Experience in security hosting environment, HA and load balancing technologies.
