Wood Department Manager

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Wood Department Manager to lead a key support service and commercial social enterprise at the Aldingbourne Country Centre.
You will be responsible for the end‑to‑end management of the Wood Department, including wood recycling, workshop production, retail products and the development of sustainable income streams. The role combines strong operational leadership with a commitment to creating meaningful, structured opportunities for people we support (PWS).
Key Responsibilities- Manage wood recycling operations, logistics, drivers and customer contracts
- Lead workshop production, ensuring quality, efficiency and clear outputs
- Oversee stock control, materials management and production planning
- Develop retail products and new income streams under the “Made at Aldingbourne” brand
- Lead and support staff and volunteers to deliver meaningful skills‑based activities for PWS
- Manage budgets, costs, margins and performance reporting
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety standards (ISO 45001)
- Support internal site projects and contribute to an excellent visitor experience
